I have a V6, non turbo manual transmission 300ZX. The first time I drove it to get it inspected and tagged, it broke down on me and I had to have it towed. It's now stuck in reverse/neutral and the first 4 gears don't work. I was told that because the gears all went out at once instead of one at a time, the issue is not the transmission itself but is the shifter rod.

My question is, can I buy just a replacement shifter rod? Or do I have to buy an entire rebuilt transmission in order to fix the rod?
