The first thing I would check is the supply line to the fuel pump from the gas tank. You could have a clogged fuel pick up sock.

Pop off the distributor cap and have someone crank the engine over and see if the rotor is spining?I suspect the rotor isnt turning and something has happened with the timing chain. That would explain why the fuel pump is inop.

Alright now your down to a worn cam fuel pump rod issue incorrectly installed pump or defective pump.I would remove the pump and hold the rod up with a screw driver while someone cranks the engine to make sure the fuel pump rod is moving properly.

The carb has a inline fuel filter where the fuel line enters the carb. This filter has a rubber check valve. This valve is destroyed by ethanol fuel. Remove the check valve, throw it out, put the filter back in the carb.

Oh I thought you removed the hose from the carb to see that no fuel was pumping from the fuel pump. If I knew that was the case we could have narrowed it down a lot quicker. Glad to hear you got it figured out though.
