Starting problems

My 85 f-250 6.9 diesel was running good I shut it off now it wont start I let it set over nite and it still wont start could it be the fuel pump?

One common issue with this model is the injector fuel return lines cracking and inducing air into the system. If air is in the injector lines, it can be a bear to start. After the glow plugs complete their cycle (important), try a bit of starting fluid directly into the intale manifold. I suspect it will then start. If it does start then, you know that the fuel pump and injector pump is probably not the culprit and you have air in the system.

It wont start with starting fluid I tried that and put diesel in the intake too tried everything

How do you get the air out of the lines where do you bleed it on the 85 diesel

To bleed the fuel system, we crack open the fuel lines at each of the injectors while cranking the engine. I think that may be a result but not the cause of your concern though. When cracking open the injector lines, see if fuel sprays out. You may have a fuel delivery concern.
