1985 Chrysler 5th Avenue drain plug

The drain plug on the oil pan is an old one and it is a butterfly type bolt, I loosened it to drain the oil and it will not screw back in to the oil pan

Tell them at the parts store you use that you want a single oversized drain plug for that vehicle and you can install it. Make sure that you start it perfectly straight and just screw it in. It will be a little tight to turn because it is cutting new threads.

The old one is stuck in won't come out of the pan. It has a safety thing that won't allow it to come out

Oh, ok. Without seeing it, it sounds like you may have to use a special tool of some sort or possibly remove the oil pan to get it out.I think your best bet would be to have it towed to a shop for inspection.
