How do I disconnect the automatic motor in my trunk?

I am having a problem where when attemping to closing the trunk on my 1985 Cadillac El Dorado, the auomatic motor continuosly runs. How do I disconnect the automatic trunk motor to be able to close the trunk manually?

Maybe a trunk pull-down motor near center of trunk lid, close to latch. Unplug, it may have a cover that you need to remove. I can't see much from here. Have you looked for the pull down motor? My info just gave location, no picture.

You will have to replace the pulldown gear on the metal striker. Just remove the cover and the switch. Take the 2 bolts out and remove the metal striker the gear is on that. Cheep repair!
