I have a 1985 bmw 528e. trying to change timing belt and i can't seem to get the cooling fan off. can you help?
The 36mm nut on the fan clutch is a left hand thread and it also takes a holding tool to steady the pulley so the nut at the fan clutch can be turned.
Thanks i had to fabricate a holding tool. but it worked like a charm. hope to get another 200k out of this engine!
