1985 BMW 318i Repair Question

I have a 1985 bmw 318i e30 m10 engine my question is how do i reset the firing order? its 1-3-4-2 but how could i get the car to read the same.
Im swapping out cylinder heads and i know the firing order is going to be off so how could i reset the order to get the car operable

-You need to correctly set the valve timing and then set the firing order-

i understand, how do i set the valve straight i know it will have a different order because it was pulled off another bmw. How should i do both?

Get a repair manual -start by putting the engine no.1 piston on its compression stroke/TDC and align camshaft and crankshaft markings as indicated in the book-
