I'm looking at a 1984 500sel that has a blown exhaust gasket and a bad waterpump: any chance I could get a ballpark estimate for repair cost? If I had to rebuild the motor could you give me a ballpark for that? It's an immaculate car driven for years by my neighbor - he wants $1500 for it. I'm trying to decide how much I want to spend to fix it.
