1984 Mercedes Benz 500sel Repair Question

My car a Mercedes Benz 500 Sel 1984 will not adjust the drivers seat angle, I am wondering if there is anyway that I can get it into a comfterble position for driving or will I have to fix the switch?
The switch just seems to have no power to it, I got it from a mechanic just the other day and still have to go back and ask him about it. I am just wondering if there is some way that I can fix it without having to pay anything.

You will have to test for power into the switch, this may require the removal of the seat to access the powewr input.
