1983 Dodge Ram Repair Question

Dodge Ram Door Problem
My 83 dodge died one cold morning about a month ago and i am just now getting to messing with it. it will fire off about 3 times and it will act like its going to start but it wont. i have changed the plugs and the wires and i cleaned the inside of the distributer cap and the carb. what could possibly be wrong with it?

CAN YOU KEEP IT RUNNING BY CONTINUING TO "NURSE IT ALONG" WITH STARTER FLUID?......OR A SQUIRT BOTTLE WITH A LITTLE GAS IN IT?
MAKE SURE YOU ARE OUTDOORS AND HAVE A "SMOTHER WET TOWEL" AND A FIRE EXTINGUISHER REAL HANDY.....JUST IN CASE!
ANY PREVIOUS HISTORY PRIOR TO THE BREAKDOWN (NOT YOU!...THE TRUCK!)
WE HAVE WHAT ENGINE?.....CARB?......ANY MODS OTHER THAN STOCK?
