What would cause the car to have a high co reading at 2500 rpms on a ca emissions test
Car passed all but this part of test

It is probably just the age of the car. There could be oil getting past the rings and burning or the entire fuel charge is not getting burnt.
Not anything to worry about with a car of that age, it is normal.
