I HAVE A TOWN COUPE WITH THE 400C.I(6.6L) MOTOR IN IT. IT LIKES TO BOG DOWN AND ALMOST STALL WHEN GIVEN THROTTLE FROM A DEAD STOP. I REPLACED THE ACCLERATOR PUMP ON THE CARBURATOR, PUT A NEW CAP AND ROTOR WITH NEW PLUGS AND WIRES

Check the ignition timing, carburetor accelerator and power valve and exhaust system for restriction
