The gear shift sprocket that slides along the gear shaft inside the transmission loosened and jammed to it, thereby locking up the column gear shift. Since the sprocket is now free and tighten back in position with the gear shaft freely moving, and with fluid back in transmission, there is now no movement of the transmission at all.
