I have a 78 Monte carlo. For some reason it wont start. At first the car wouldnt stay on. Changed the fuel Filter, and it was a vacuum seal adn it was fine, but now it wont start at all. Changed the ignition switch, battery is good, carburator is good, starter is good. What else could it be? Someone said maybe a bad connection or wiring but we dont know from where?

Are you saying it cranks good but won't start, or it won't even crank? If it won't even crank, turn on the headlites, turn key to crank, any reaction from the headlamps? Do they go out, stay bright, anything?

Find neutral switch on trans. use test light or meter check for voltage on Yellow wire key in start if present then check purple wire if no voltage then switch is faulty. Temp fix pull connector jumper from Yellow to Purple to start
