1976 Ford F-150 motor swap

Will a 1976 ford inline 6 4.9 (head) bolt up to an 1988 fuel injected ford inline 6 4.9 block with no mods other then the fuel pump I cant believe it but I cant get a good answer anywhere I hope you guys can help thanx

Check to see if you have all the same sensor holes that all the sensors will go into on the newer head. It should however as that is obd1 and not as technical as the obd2 models. Also do the injectors go into the manifold or head. If they go into head then it won't work

Thanks but I plan on going back to the carb and I was wandering if my 76 head would bolt on to an 1988 fuel injected block? I do know that theres no lobe on the cam to run the mechanical fuel pump and ill have to use an electric inline fuel pump and I was wandering if there was anything else I need to do to get the 88 injected block to work in my 1976 truck . Thank you for any and all info

As long as the head gasket hasn't changed positions and the holes line up I imagine you can do it 88 was OBD1 so there shouldn't be a whole bunch of changes. Just make sure holes line up with old head as far as oil and cooling

Well the reason is age of vehicle for one thing and if we were able to see it we cold probably tell you right off the bat.
