1976 Chevy stepvan auto transmission--engine when hot after long trip dies when I shift gears. I drove it about 400 miles in a day and when I stopped for gas, I had trouble getting it back in gear. By the time I got home (500 miles total), it died with each shift. This is a rebuilt engine (1995) and original tranny.
