My new clutch is not letting me shift into first and second

New clutch stopped working. A day or two after replacing the clutch on my 1975 Firebird, the clutch pedal suddenly went real soft. It barely disengages the transmission now and I can only get the car into 3rd gear. Is there any way to tell what went wrong?
Transmission was recently rebuilt (bearings, seals, synchros, etc.) By a reputable shop. The car shifted great for a day or two.

Found the problem. The bolts connecting the transmission to the cradle had come out and the transmission had moved an inch or two to the right so that the clutch couldn't disengage. Also the the 1st/2nd gear shifter arm wasn't seated flush against the transmission housing (the opening had become warped and burred) so the throws were'nt fully engaging. Had a friend help replace the bolts, locked them down this time, deburred the shifter arm, adjusted the linkage, and now it runs fine.
