1975 Pontiac Firebird car shuts off while running

When I am driving for 10 minutes bor so the car will die and be hard to restart. This has happened to me 4 time in the last week, so I'm not sure if the problem can be electrical or not. The alternator is fine and the oil as well. What I have been told is that it might be the distributor but I'm not for sure

Nice car.

When this happens, have you checked to see if there is spark to the plugs and that the engine is getting fuel to the carb? Also, have you checked to see if the choke is closing?
