1975 Dodge Dart Repair Question

1975 dodge dart swinger with a 318 engine. Had a fusible link burn up replaced it and it started fine. Drove car not even a mile down road and it made a weird whoosh noise then died. Checked fuses they are fine I have head lights but nothing else electric
