We are trying to replace the ignition switch. The ignition lock cylinder will not come out after following the instructions from a Chilton manual. What can we do?

Look inside the housing. You see the key cyl. There is a key way where it hooks to the column. Look at the new part youll see the lock. You need to insert a screw driver to release the cyl.

We did this. It still will not come out. One part of the manual said that sometimes they cylinder can be pushed too far in and that the steering column has to be removed in order to get the cylinder out. How do we go about doing this?

I would insure that cyl. Clip is released. Then pry it out. You need to push the release properly to do this.
