I changed my headlight switch and forgot to disconnect the battery. So I had a spark and now the car will not start. It will not even turn over. I replaced the ignition switch and all of the fuses and nothing. The battery is new. Can someone help?

You need a test light to check for power / voltage.

You need a wiring diagram to tell you where to check for power / voltage.

The wiring diagram can be found here:

http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/info/wiringt1.php

Find the wiring diagram that matches your vehicle, follow the power from the battery + post to the ignition switch and then to the starter.

Use your test light to verify power flow.... post your findings for further help.
