Need to know firing order for a IH cargo van model M-1100 year 1968 inline 6 cyl so i can do a valve adj

Not sure which engine in it front tag on radiator is as follows IH-114420 08 324351-C91 serial #M-1100 551109L027326 vin # same cyl head # 164415RS GVW 6,100 Lb

The firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 but you time off of #8 NOT #1. It's an IH quirk. #1 doesn't matter where it goes on the cap either, as long as the timing marks & rotor are lined up.

The cylinders are marked on the intake manifold runners (the firing order is on the manifold too) & the valve covers also have the firing order & the 'time on #8cyl' warning too.

Since this is your 1st IH > I'm going to suggest you you read the FAQ's. If you're used to 'other' engines > these will throw you with their 'differences'.
