1964 Volkswagen Beetle Repair Question

My VW will not shift into 2nd gear-will shift into all others

I can not shift into 2nd, it will start in first, but need to go to 3rd after that.

Proberbly a worn synchro ring in the gear box, best you get a mechanic to road test to confirm the diagnosis.
