I bought a 1963 Fairlane 500 to restore about a year ago. I'm now working on the engine. My surprise is: The insignias on the fenders say 260 V-8. But when I took the valve covers off yesterday to replace 2 push rods, the heads are cast with 289 on them!? Did Ford put 289 heads on the 260 block in 1963?
