1961 Toyota Pickup Repair Question

Do i use sealer on 1981 22r rear head plate gasket
1981 22r engine has a plate w/ exhaust ports in it, on back of the head.
I have replaced the head and need to know this answer before I put that engine back in, because it will require repulling the engine if this back plate leaks.

You should use a gasket and just a small amount of gasket sealer, and that will work fine.
