1961 Ford F-100 Repair Question
Asked on February 7, 2012
I have a 1960 Ford F100 (6 cyl) that won't start. Turning key will light dash lights but no clicking or sound from engine compartment. Jump starting doesn't make any difference. I suspect the starter needs to be replaced, but suppose it could be a bad
The truck was running fine until recently and then it sat for a couple of months and wouldn't start anymore. Battery needs to be replaced, but jumping it doesn't make any difference, so I don't think battery is the only reason.

Check to see if there is power to the smaller wire on the starter when the key is in the start position. The relay or the starter may be bad too. Make sure you have a good battery before going through these checks.
