MORE: Toyota Supra Repair Questions

Question:  1989 Toyota, Supra Turbo mileage: 90,000.  Cannot get alternator to put out.  Checked all wiring to alternator, fuses, and links.  All were good.  Also changed alternator three times thinking I got a bad rebuild.  Still cannot get it to charge.  Any ideas.  Going nuts trying to find problem.  PS: The battery is good.

Answer:   Your problem may be the circuit-opening relay under the hood in the relay center.

Question:  1987 Toyota Supra mileage: 130,000.  Three months ago, my clutch pressed in but didn't come back out.  I called my mechanic and he ended up replacing a seal and another part (can't remember).  This did the trick until this morning when I went to start the car and the same thing happened.  I checked fluid level and was almost empty, filled back up but clutch still not responding.  Do I need to bleed line and how do I do this, or is it something else?

Answer:  The clutch system should not loose fluid that quickly.  Locate the leaking master and or slave cylinder and replace.

Question:  When I turn off and remove my keys, the car turns off but the instrument panel lights and heater/AC fan system still works... it's not everything that works (the radio does not work)... sometimes when I restart the car and turn it off again it all turns off like it should, other times this does not work and I have to disconnect the battery... again sometimes when I re-connect the battery everything is off and sometimes the instrument panel/AC fan is still on.... it's not the turbo timer because I've completely removed it with the same result.... I'm guessing it's a faulty relay somewhere.... any ideas where to look?

Answer: Sounds more like an ignition switch problem to me -when the key is in off position it should shut everything off-but when the ignition switch is acting funny it will do that its not catching its sweet spot.
