Oldsmobile Custom Repair Questions and Answers

Question:  1985 Oldsmobile Custom v8 mileage: 86,000.  I have replaced plugs, alternator, belts, changed oil, cleaned carburetor, and replaced fuel sensor, and my car is consuming too much gas.  It uses almost 3/4 of a tank of gas to drive 50 miles.  How can I repair my car so it doesn't use so much gas?

Answer:   Check fuel pump and fuel lines for leaks while the engine is running.  If okay, the carburetor may need replacing.  Check ignition timing also.
