Mitsubishi G54B Repair Questions and Answers

Question: 1989 Mitsubishi G54B, 150,000 miles. My Chilton manual shows a distributor cap which is different from the cap all auto stores show. My truck has a 2.6. The cap they show me is for the 2.0 and the 2.4. I just put a new head on my truck and I cannot get it to start. It turns over with spark with no start. I have tried every thing I can think of to no avail. I put my #1 piston up to top dead center and my distributor towards #1. I have checked all my timing marks and still no luck. Any help for this shady tree mechanic, will be greatly appreciated.

Answer:  Distributor is installed 180% out of time. Turn engine over exactly one full turn and reset the distributor at # 1 cylinder.
