Mercedes Benz CL500 Repair Questions
Question: 2002
Mercedes Benz CL500 Mileage 44,000 I have a check
engine light that keeps coming on and going out. Every
time I am about to take it in for service the light goes
out and the car continues to run fine. If my car runs
fine and the light is out why would I take it in when I
know they are going to charge me regardless.
Answer: Your car has many systems on board, that
require monitoring. All sensors need to be operating.
Having your own code reader is a nice tool to diagnose
this kind of problem. The code readers that are
available today are hand held and plug right into the
OBD2 computer link inside your car. You scan your car
yourself and retrieve the error codes. The scanners
usually come with a chart that lists the codes and their
respective components.
