1987 Mercedes 300TD mileage: 230k. Car
has no problem starting but when I turn the key to turn
it off the car keeps running. I have to pop the hood and
hit the stop switch.
Answer:
Vacuum is used to shut off the fuel to stop the engine.
Check the vacuum hoses for leaks and check for proper
operation of the vacuum pump.
Question: 1987 Mercedes Benz 300
turbo diesel mileage: 2000. Before and after the
overhaul, when I step on the accelerator (for example to
overtake a car) the performance is very poor. On the
other hand, when I push the kit down (from 3rd to 2nd)
it is like pushing the brake. Do you know why this
occurs?
Answer: Two things to check that
would cause your poor performance, incorrect injector
timing and no boost pressure from the turbo.
