Question:
1990 Mazda6 2.2litre How do you remove the front wheel
bearing after you remove the caliper, rotor and axle
nut. It does not appear as there is a bearing housing
that comes off.
Answer: You have to remove the entire spindle
from the strut and the lower control arm. Then you
will have to press the bearing out/in, plus you will
have to remove part of the bearing race that will be
stuck on the axle hub when it is pressed out.
These bearings are NOT an easy bolt on.
You will need to buy a new: bearing, axle nut, lower
ball joint 'pinch bolt' and a new seal for behind
the bearing.
