Question: My 92 Geo Storm 1.4
L SOHC check engine light wont stay on when I turn the ignition switch to on.
All the rest of the instrument panel light but the check engine lights then goes
off. When off the car wont start. Occasionally the check engine stays on and the
car starts and runs for about 5min before stalling. What could be the cause? I
cant check ECM for trouble codes because the light wont stay on long enough. I
might of inadvertently jumped the ALDL after I turned the key to on position. I
hope I didn't kill my ECM. What should I do to get my car running again? Help?
Answer: When it stalls check
for fuel and spark-I'll start with fuel then comeback
Question:
My 93 Geo Storm 1.6l won't idle smoothly. Will even stall
at complete stops. Replaced plugs, wires, cap, rotor. ECM tells me nothing
wrong. I suspect MAP sensor but it checks out okay. I've adjusted idle up and
advanced timing by turning distributor to keep it running. This can't be good
for to long. Is there something I've missed? Does anyone have any ideas what I
should?
Answer:
Do you know how to track a vacuum leak? If it has an EGR and PCV valves find
them and clean it make sure its getting vacuum to it, then comeback and we'll
take to the next level of the engine conditions.
Question: My gf owns a 1990
geo storm gsi.... when your driving its fine.... when its idling at a stop its
fine...... but when ur coming to a stop and u push the clutch in it the rpms
will go up and down until u get under 10 mph..... not just a few either id say
around 200 - 300 rpm up then the same down until u get to 10 mph then it quits
and idles right........ what could this be??? thanks
Answer: Sounds like the
throttle position sensors going bad.
Question: I have a 1992 geo
storm with 80,000 miles. The clutch is going out and i was wondering if anybody
knows how much it would cost to get a new clutch put in (average cost)??
Answer: Depends on the part
of the world you are in. Best to call around locally for estimates. Good advice.
