Eagle Vision Car Repair Questions and Answers

Question: 1994 Eagle Vision 6
cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 206,000 miles my engine is making a slight
knocking noise that gets louder once the engine has been running for about 20
minutes, but the car drives fine. Also the battery sometimes dies after running.
What should I do about these problems?
Answer: Both problems could
be related. have your alternator checked.
Question:
3.3 93 with 97K When hot and parked, after short time
wont start, turns over, found it had no spark. Waited 30 min, started perfectly.
Does not do this every day. Changed spark plugs,
cam sensor, coil, crank sensor. Now its worse than ever, if I get
it started it is running on 3 or 4 badly, try feathering accel and it back fires
with big flat spot. Starts with a miss, does not develop, sound like it is
flooded or has 2 wet plugs, but if I can keep it running , nothing clears out.
Feed the accel gently and it gets to 1500rpm with the missing and occasional
backfire through inlet, like timing was out and dead plugs. Next change I have a
fuel filter. Where should I be looking? Before I changed the sensors at least it
started and ran fine, once it did start. Now very depressing. Should I just go
fishing or start drinking? Or both?
Answer: Be sure the plug
wires are on the correct terminals on the coil. Check engine light on? If so
have it scanned and get back to me with the code/codes.
Question: 1995 Eagle Vision
ESI 182,000 miles 3.3L, V6 While driving, or parked, my brake lights seem to
always be on. When I pull the brake pedal up, the brake lights would then go
off. After doing this for about 3 weeks, it is getting harder to keep them off.
After pulling up on the pedal and making sure the brake lights are off, I will
leave the car. When I come back they are on. I been told that it is probably the
brake light switch. I have gone under the dash to check it out. Found the
switch. When I press in the plunger, the lights DO go off. It seems like a
"distance" issue ... either the plunger needs to be moved forward, closer to the
brake arm, OR the brake arm needs to be adjusted back to the plunger. Is there a
way to adjust either of these? If so, which one should I adjust and HOW? Or do I
need a new brake light switch? If I install a new one, will I have the same
"distance" issue?
Answer: Usually you can pull
or push the switch into and out of the bracket...Book says push into bracket as
far as it will go then pull up on brake pedal, no further adjustment needed!
Maybe the bracket could use a little pinch with pliers to tighten it up again!
Question (follow up):
Thanks so much for the info. I pushed
the plunger all the way in ..... and it clicked into a position. This created a
further distance between the plunger and the barge arm. I followed your
instructions by pulling the plunger out with pliers. While pulling it out, it
'clicked' as it passed each position. It ended up long enough to make good
contact with the brake arm! Thanks for the help. I really appreciate it!
Question: 1994 Eagle Vision
When car is running the fan for heat & air conditioning and power windows don't
work. When turned off and key is out of ignition the fan and the windows do
work. Is it the switch in the ignition that is defective?
Answer: You need to replace
your ignition switch.
Question:
1994 eagle vision tsi 174,000 miles engine cooling fan
does not run replaced engine temp switch still no power but if I unplug the temp
switch it ran but now does not.
Answer: You should have a
inline fuse coming from your cooling fan find it and see if it's blown if it is
then all you have to do is splice it.
