Eagle Summit Car Repair Questions and Answers

Question:    1994 Eagle Summit 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 134000 miles How does the 94 Eagle Summit wipers work? I hear the motor running but some where between the wiper motor and the blades something isn't working because the wipers aren't turning. So I know its not the fuse. I've never had any problems with my Eagle This all happened after an ice storm and I tried to turn the wipers on I thought I cleaned all the ice around the wipers but still nothing I turned the wipers on and then tried to manually move the wipers while they were still turned on. and they manually moved

Answer:    There is a regulator (linkages) between the wiper motor and the wiper blade arms, the pivot on the wiper are has probably failed and a new regulator will be required.

Question:    93 Eagle Summit Wagon, 2.4L, Manual 5sp, 2WD. 182,000miles (just broken in!). It has four new tires, and they have been moved around the car--balanced, bent rim replaced, and 4 wheel alignment conducted. I have an intermittent vibration that sometimes manifests itself at about 40 mph and lasts to 60 where it then diminishes but does not disappear. Sometimes (often) the car seems smooth as silk. It seems to be regardless of when accelerating or coasting and independent of which gear I am in. Seems related to speed. Car slightly drifts to the right though alignment was double checked and found ok. Any ideas?

Answer:    if it did it before and after you had the tires rotate and it pulls slightly to the right after the car has been aligned, then I would start with checking the bearings in the right front, also check the cv joints

Question:    Perhaps someone can help me. I purchased a used 1991 Eagle Summit 6 months ago and began experiencing problems with it about a month after buying it. While overseas on military duty my wife told me that the car no longer would shift into second gear. She also informed me that the car had a clicking sound from the left front wheel. Upon my return I had a friend take a look at it and he told me it has a broken tie rod ( clicking sound) and the inability to shift into second is most likely the transmission. I originally paid 950$ for the car and invested another 908$ to fix the clutch and hydraulic clutch cylinder before leaving to go overseas. Can someone please advise me as to how much it might cost to repair the transmission problem and the tie rod and is it worth it? Thanks to anyone who might be able to give me some solid advice

Answer:    first the tie rod end parts and labor should cost about $120.00 with alignment. Next is second gear the only gear that doesn't work?

Question:    Hi, I own a 1989 eagle summit DL with automatic transmission. I was driving it when suddenly the engine turned off. I stopped and realized there was no electricity in the engine, but on the emergency lights and alarm, so when I checked the fuse box, two of them popped, one of 30 and another of 40 amps, changed them and everything was fine till today then it happened again! I don't have the fuse box diagram so I can't tell witch fuses popped! NEED HELP!!!

Answer:    Please check your cooling fans, if one of the cooling fan motors is shorting it will cause the fuses to blow.
