MORE: Dodge Charger Repair Questions

Question: 2007 Dodge Charger ST.  My car is leaking red transmission fluid while parked. I began to notice this two days ago. The car is running well and I was wondering if this could be due to a change in the weather. It went from the 80's to 35 degrees over night. Is this possible?

Answer: The transmission needs to be inspected by a qualified mechanic.

Question: Dodge Charger mileage 140,000 engine 318.  I have had steering problems and for awhile, it wonders terribly and has a lot of play in the steering. Also, the car turns very sharp right but left it doesn't turn as sharp as it should.  I pulled out of my driveway and I heard a small pop or slip sound. I can turn right as far as I want but, no left at all.

Answer: The ball joint is bad, probably the pitman arm.

Question: 2006 Dodge Charger V8 Front Wheel Drive Automatic 35,051 miles. I need the exact location of the bleed screw for the cooling system. I just changed out the radiator and need to purge the system.

Answer: There is a plug at the front of the water outlet housing at the front of the engine (may be necessary to install a bleeder valve on 5.7l). Install a hose(4-6 ft long and 1/4 ID clear) and route it away from accessory drive belt and place the end in a clean container. You MUST open the valve before any coolant is added to the engine or it may air pocket. You need to pinch off the hose that connects the two chambers of the coolant bottle.
