Deawoo Leganza Car Repair Questions and Answers

Question: 1999 Daewoo Leganza
4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 67,000 miles. My car overheated into the red.
Shop said blown head gasket, hydrocarbons in the water and coolant and all the
other things that happen with overheating. I paid 1700 to have it fixed. It
still ran hot and after being shined on about 3 times my son-in-law told them that
they better fix it. They had it a week and said fixed. After 2 days it began to
run hot again and I really need a car. The gauge is up to 3/4 and I have to take
it back again. What to do? What should they be doing?
Answer: It may be a bad water
pump also, or defective thermostat. When the vehicle overheated it probably blew
the head gasket or warped the head causing the hydrocarbon reading.
Question: 2000
Daewoo Leganza 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 91,000 miles.
gauge stays cold for long time then even when it comes up to mid range it gives
very little warmth. Only one hose is hot to it under the hood but I've heard
something about a clip that holds the heater core in place. wondered how to remove the core? Should I try
to buy any parts in advance or could it be just this clip?
Answer: Change
thermostat 1st engine not heating up for the heat to work
