Question: 1984 Cadillac Fleetwood V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 51,000 miles. I seem to have oil in the air filter housing. I was wondering if that's normal?

Answer: A little maybe, a lot no. Blow by from the rings causes this (high crank case psi).

Question: 1991 Cadillac Fleetwood V8 Front Wheel Drive. I know there is a way to get the codes off the dash but I am not sure which series of buttons to push could you please give me that info?

Answer:
Turn the key on, press OFF and WARMER at the same time, Hold them until all segments of the fuel data center and ECCP light up. This indicates the beginning of the diagnostic readout.

Question: 1994 Cadillac Fleetwood V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 113,000 miles. What is involved and how difficult is it to change the front rotors? Is there any torque on the spindle nut or is it like the older spindles with the wheel bearings castle nut and cotter pin assembly?

Answer:
Remove dust cover remove pin remove nut, washer, bearings hope this will clear it more for you.

Question:
1990 Cadillac Fleetwood V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 160000 miles. Can a computer be reset ?

Answer:
Cross these two terminals as shown, then turn the key on. Count the flashes, a 22 will flash as 2 flashes then a short pause, then 2 flashes, if more than one code is stored, the pause will be longer. The codes will display three times and end with 12. Write them down and post here.

Question:
1995 Cadillac Fleetwood V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 107,000 miles. I just bought this 1995 Cadillac Fleetwood brougham in excellent condition and right when you turn the car on the temperature light stays on. The light will flicker on and off and will stay off when the car is on an incline or decline up or down a hill. Then will the car gets level it'll come on again. I checked the engine coolant level and its just over the line. It seems to be running a little hot, but I'm kind of scared to keep it running too long.

Answer: The temperature light could be from a few things; check in front of the radiator between the air conditioner cooler and see if there is any thing between them, I had a Buick that did the same thing and I had to clean out some leafs. The leafs prevented the air flow and was not able to cool the coolant.  Also check to see the wire going to the sending unit if it is hitting something like exhaust manifold. Check the belts to make sure they are adjusted properly. If the problem persists then I would change the thermostat.

Question:
1990 Cadillac Fleetwood V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 114000 miles. Can I replace a 1990 Cadillac 5.0L-307 CID-Oldsmobile engine (if that is what it is) with a 1968-1980 350, 2 or 4 Main Cap Bolt, Small Block Chevy Engine? Casting # 3970010

Answer:
A small block Chevy is the same, use some old parts, block and heads will be different.

Question: 1990 Cadillac Fleetwood V8 Front Wheel Drive Automatic 150,000 miles. The car will not start. I pulled the starter and had it checked out (with the solenoid attached to the side). Both the starter and solenoid are in good shape and working. I also pulled the battery, yet again in good shape. When I put the starter back into the car, it just clicks like the solenoid is burned out. The car does not have the solenoid up top, just attached to the starter itself. I turned the motor to make sure it is not binding up and the crank and pulleys turn freely. I checked the wiring with a voltmeter and all is good. Am I missing something here?

Answer: Use a remote starter or a screwdriver on the battery terminal to the solenoid small terminal with a purple wire-did it crank over? If so look for power at the purple wire power-power there you have a bad starter. No power while key is in start position test the transmission range switch/neutral safety switch and ignition switch.

Question (Follow Up): The problem was the neutral safety switch. I replaced and now the car works fine.

Question: 1992 Cadillac Fleetwood V8 Front Wheel Drive Automatic 147,000 miles. I've been trying to get my hood open but it seems like some thing broke loose at the end of the cable inside the hood because when I go to pull the hood latch its loose, and I tried pulling harder on it but it won't open. It's time for me to change the oil and I can't get to it!

Answer:
Try to go through the grill or underneath with a long screwdriver to the latch.

Question:
1994 Fleetwood Cadillac with automatic transmission, 5.7 eng, 135 mil. I was wondering what do I have to do to remove the steering wheel without airbag going off? Thank you

Answer: Disconnect the battery.
