Buick Lucerne Car Repair Questions and Answers

MORE: Buick Lucerne Repair Questions

Question : I have a 2007 lucerne. For the last 3 months, the car has been in the shop because the air doesn't work. The compressor has been changed 3 times. there is always debre in the lines that has to be cleaned. Now they have to replace the accumulator or cumulator and the TXV which is a major job. It will be a week again, before I get it back. Been in the shop for the last 2 months every other week. How serious is this? Should I keep the car?

Answer: I would venture to say that the first compressor that went out must have really had a major break-down. All the metal went through the system and that is what keeps pluging up that orifice tube. Chances are that several componets will have to be replaced in order to get all that stuff out of the system....I have not seen hardly any problems out the A/C systems on the Lucerne. They really are good cars....

Question: 2007 Buick Lucerne 6 cyl Two wheel drive Automatic 6000 miles. How do you reprogram the entry remote with the car's onboard system? I did it for one of my three remotes, but that changed the other two.

Answer: Relearn Remote Key
To access this display, the vehicle must be in PARK (P). This display allows you to match Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitters to your vehicle. To match an RKE transmitter to your vehicle, do the following:

Press the vehicle information button until PRESS TO RELEARN REMOTE KEY displays.
Press the set/reset button until REMOTE KEY LEARNING ACTIVE is displayed.
Press and hold the lock and unlock buttons on the first transmitter at the same time for about 15 seconds.
On vehicles with memory recall seats, the first transmitter learned will match driver 1 and the second will match driver 2.
A chime will sound indicating that the transmitter is matched.
To match additional transmitters at this time, repeat Step 3.
Each vehicle can have a maximum of eight transmitters matched to it.
To exit the programming mode, you must cycle the key to OFF.

Question: Thanks, I have a 2008 Buick Lucerne V-6 3.8L. The lighter plugs won't work. The one in the dash and the one under the arm rest, center console. The first place I started was the fuses. I looked in the manual, in the fuse box and on-line and have not been able to identify which fuse operates the lighter plugs. Could you let me know?

Answer: Check in the fuse box under the rear seat. make sure to check fuse # 31 and 26. Both are 20 amp fuses....
