Question: 2000 Audi A4
Automatic 110,000 miles. When I try to put gas into my gas tank, the tank acts
plugged or something, it wont let me add gas. Is there some sort of valve that's
not working? Thank you
Answer: More likely a problem with the venting of
the filler neck. Might need to lift and support vehicle to visually inspect the
fill hose and the vent.
Question: 2003 Audi A4 4 cyl
Front Wheel Drive Manual 56,000 miles. Hello, I am from Romania and the roads are
pretty bad here. Anyway now it's winter and it's really cold and I have noticed
an annoying noise coming from the back of my car. I went to a local Audi service
and they tuned up my rear seats but the noise is still there. I have to mention
that if I have luggage in the trunk the noise stops and also if I have
passengers in the back. I don't now what it is but it really irritates me. I
would like to know what can be the causes. Please Help!!!
Answer: If this
noise is reduced or eliminated with weight over the rear axle, it will be
related to the rear suspension, possibly a faulty shock /
strut or a faulty suspension bush, have these check first.
Question: 2003 Audi A4 6 cyl
All Wheel Drive 69,000 miles. I lost my key to my car so I got a copy of a key
from an authorized dealer. Proceeded to tow the car to the dealer, called to
pick it up later and was then told by the service dept. that I now needed a new
control module for the engine as well as a new instrument cluster. A week later,
they then said I needed a new Transmission module & as well as another module. A
few days later, they now say, they found a nickel (not a dime, nor a quarter)
within the cars tip tonic magnets or gears, and that It would cost Three hundred
to I guess, remove it. -I 'm sorry, but now I'm laughing..... I only went there
to program a good key, that they got for me, after providing my I'D and vehicle
title. Please tell me what if any thing, could have gone wrong here. Thanks so
much for your time and help!Answer:
Have them do
the key work and nothing else. Then take it to another dealership or certified
mechanic and see what their
opinions are on the matter.
Question: 2003 Audi A4 4 cyl
Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 100,000 miles. I have an Audi A4 1.8 Turbo.
When it idles for about 3-5 minutes it begins to output blue - black smoke from
the twin exhaust. Is this a problems caused by the turbo is not getting air
through it when the vehicle is not moving? When driving it does not appears to be
a great problem. Alternatively could it be a fuel issue or something more
sinister - the rings perhaps?
Answer: This smoke
will be oil smoke, I would do an oil consumption test first, change oil and
filter make sure oil is exactly on full mark, note mileage and run for one week and
check oil, if low add but measure amount used and note mileage. Report back
findings, check sparks plug for contamination (oil fouling) is there any smoke
(blue) when starting up cold? If not there may be an oil control issue
happening, or a turbo oil seal. If a turbo seal is faulty you will see small
specks of oil on the back of the car and the tail pipe will be greasy with a
little oil as a turbo oil seal leak will not fully burn the oil entering the
exhaust.
Question: 2004 Audi A4 6 cyl
All Wheel Drive Automatic 54,000 miles. My windshield washer fluid suddenly
stopped working. I filled the reservoir but get no stream for the windshield nor
the headlamps. What could this be?Answer: Check
to make sure there is fluid in the reservoir. The pump may have gone bad and or
the fuse for the pump may have blown, also check the line coming off the pump it may be
plugged. The switch for the pump may have gone bad. Have someone press the
switch and you listen for the pump humming at the reservoir area.
Question: 2004 Audi A4 Engine
Size unknown Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 83,000 miles. Hi, I just purchased
my car from car auction it has full service history at regular intervals ,very
quiet on standing ,however when I took it out yesterday engine noise seems louder
as you go faster and then the PRNDS on the display is flashing, it has a
tectonic gearbox and revs seem to be running at 2000 can you help?
Answer: Need to have
the power train scanned for codes, but it sounds like the trans is probably
having issues. Scan it and get back.
Question: 1998 a4 2.8 quattro. My oil temperature light goes
on, I checked the oil level and it looks fine, only goes on once in a while,
what can it be, I'm thinking maybe a bad oil temperature sender?Answer: I feel as you do that the oil temp sender may be faulty,
before replacing I would make sure that the electrical connection is clean and
tight, a fault code scan should give a code for this sensor.
