1987 BMW 635csi, 161,000 miles, 6 cylinder. The windshield wipers only work when it is on the high setting. They do not work on delay or the slower setting.

the problem is either the wiper relay located in the fusebox under the hood or the wiper switch is bad. my guess would be the wiper relay.it is the long black plastic plug in and is rectangular in shape.salvage yards will have what you need if $ is an issue.
