I own a 1998 Sienna and the rear brakes squeal. I replace rear shoes in the past on other cars so I thought this was easy. I do not see how to remove the rear drum. There is no star nut and I can not budge the drum off the hub. Can someone tell me how to remove the drum? Thank you.
After you remove the wheel, you will see two small holes on the drum near the lug bolts. These are used to back the drum off. I think what you screw into the holes are called jack screws, but not sure... It's a metric bolt that you screw in, and the drums backs off. I personally like this better than the old star nut/ hammer method! Good luck!

How did you proceed? did this work out for you?
