Please help me out with some more information. Have you scanned for faults and what are they? What history can you share about the car? When did this problem start?

I bought the car two years ago with 44,000 miles on it. Never really did any service except for oil change every 3,000 miles. The car was really great, have 61,000 miles now, never felt any problems until this occured. The car was sitting on the garrage for two weeks before this happened.thank you so much for the help.

I have a 2005 325i with the same problem! Mileage 60,000. Only it started very suddenly. Should I even drive it with reduced power and a VERY rough idle?

This seems like an ignition coil issue. There is a voluntary emission recall from BMW for this issue, the bulletin # is 12-13-05 and should be covered by warranty. However, dealing with the issue at your local BMW retailer may not be free of charge, depending on where you are and the dealer. A phone call and a conversation with them beforehand would be advisable. Send me a PM if you intend to repair the vehicle yourself or if you need the coils as I have new ones.

To riskman1 you will not damage anything by driving it a short distance to get this repaired, avoid driving your car if this seems like a safety issue, you are more valuable than whatever it costs to tow it to the repair shop.
