Engine Performance problem
2007 Toyota Avalon 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 45000 miles

I just had the Toyota recommended service for 45000 miles and the dealer's service rep said that they recommend "upper intake service" ($110.00) to clean out the "gunk" that builds up.
The manufacture does not include this in the suggested service maintenance and I just wondered if the dealer is trying to sell me something that I don't actually need.

it is true that gunk builds up and its good to clean out.

dont belive um? take the throttle body off an dlook in there once.

thats a pretty decent price also
