2007 Chevy Suburban V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 32,000 miles

Hello,

When I start my 2007 Suburban sometimes it is hard to take my truck out of park. Although I have my foot on the brake to place the car in gear sometimes it will not budge until after the third or fourth try. I know that the battery is low and i had experienced this problem in my 2002 maxima when my battery went dead but after i replaced it it was fine. Can this be the same type os situation? Also the tracktion light is on. At first it was coming on and off but now it stays on. I dont know what is wrong. Can you help me
