Electrical problem
2006 GMC Yukon V8 All Wheel Drive Automatic
----------------------------------------------------------------
Just out of no where the rear hatch will not work what so ever. I cant get the lock to unlock with the wireless key and it has no entry for a key on the hatch. The glass also will not open or even make a sound...Now all of the other doors and windows on the other 4 doors work fine no problems what so ever..It sounds like a short to me but this suv is so new and well taking care of.... im leaning to maybe a faulty relay..i looked under the hood and at the one box in the interior but no luck for door locks..any help would be great ty for your time

Under warranty?

First, check the fuse in the instrument panel fuse box labeled ECC. This 10 amp fuse is on a separate circuit than the others.

You can check these. Swap them out with another fuse of the same to be sure. Same goes for the ECC.

You may need to manually open the liftgate to get at the components inside the door to check for wiring problems or bad connections. Check any harnesses that are bent on a tighter radius that will flex when the gate goes up and down.

From what I understand, the latches on these can be troublesome and should get lubricated. Granted I have not run into this problem on these at our shop.

Service Writer, I believe we are getting close, but no cigar just yet. The 06 Yukon does not conform to the Fig.10 diagram ( opening liftgate during electrical panel)....It does have a pull down strap that the owner can use when closing the hatch. This strap uses a small hex head type screw. Upon removing this strap it makes it easier to pop out the bottom panel and expose all of the workings. Once you manual unlock the level you can utilize the push button for the glass or the level for the hatch. I sprayed the workings with WD-40 and noticed while using the remote lock the mechanism appears to wiggle. This tells me that it is not fuse related but more of a failure of the lock/unlock mechanism. Should I continue to track down electrical/fuse or does it also seem it is the lock/unlock mechanism?. I may try to decipher uploading a picture if this will help. Thank you again, we are close. Handshake

I am having the exact same problem. However, I was unable to remove the panel in fear of damaging it. Please let me know if you find a fix.

Does this look like what you have?

IF there is no noise at the actuator, then this is still electrical, other wise you would hear or see a reaction when the button is pressed.

Test for power at the arrows, I expect none. This is the flow chart:

Check for power going into the actuator harness, IF present, I would expect the actuator to be bad.
