Engine Mechanical problem
2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 26000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
While accelerating on a right-curved, inclined freeway onramp, my PT Cruiser seemed to sputter (much like when you don't engage the clutch properly with a stick-shift transmission). In addition, my stereo and A/C turned off. I realized I had no power and started to pull over, trying to avoid getting hit by traffic. I then realized my engine turned on again. Everything seemed normal. That was three days ago. Yesterday, the same thing happened with every right turn I made. I realized that if I quickly let off the accelerator when the car started to "sputter", the engine would turn on and I can move forward as long as I didn't punch the accelerator and as long as my foot was centered directly over the pad (I'm short so I can't always manage to keep my foot centered on the pad). On the last turn I had to make before arriving at my house, was a left turn. My car did the same thing.
Initially, this problem occurred only with the quick acceleration, when merging with traffic from a curved onramp. Also, when the engine turns back on, so does my radio and lights, but not the A/C. What do you think? Thanks for your time.
