2006 Chevy Silverado trying to understand my problem.

Computer problem
2006 Chevy Silverado V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 42249 miles

My engine light is on and i did a troubleshoot and i got a trouble code <P0449 Evaporative Emission Control System Vent Valve/Solenoid Circuit Malfunction > But im not sure exactly how to correct it . My gas cap it also tight too,i was told it could have been that so im not sure please give me some good advise!

Take it to chevy, I think they need to cover emission stuff for 50,000 miles. In any case it's not the gas cap code. It's the solinoid on the charcoal canister.

if i dont have time to take it right ,will it effect anything or cause more problems,and could this be the reason i have really bad gas milage?

I wouldnt wait too long, you may smell fumes if the vent is stuck open...
