Engine Mechanical problem
2006 Acura RSX 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 36,000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
I will be deploying to Iraq for 15 months. My problem is I don't have anyone to watch my car or start it for me once in a while. I plan on storing my car in a 10x20 storage facility that isn't climate/temperature controlled.

My question is since the car wont be touched for 15 months what should I do to prepare/properly store it?

Should I remove the battery?
Should I remove the Tires so it doesn't get flat and start to rest on the rims?

-Mike
Thanks in advanced

The major concern is the fuel system. here is what i would suggest.

run the vehicle and add gas additive to the tank. parts store will help you get the stuff.

The tires should probably be ok unless you have one that has been getting low occasionally.

i would take out the battery and make sure it is fully charged.

i would pull the plugs and add a small amount of oil to the cylinders. Turn the engine over a few times to work the oil around in the cylinders. put the plugs back in.

you might want to put some decon in vehicle to keep out the rodents.

Now, I am proud of you for what you are doing for the country. you have my support and prayers. keep your thoughts focused and do a good job as i feel all our soldiers do. i have served and i commend you in your efforts.
