2005 Pontiac Grand Am 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 60000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you for the free advice! It is much appreciated! My Grand AM has died three times recently. The first time it happend we stopped at a stop sign and had just slowly turned the corner and the car cut out while slightly accelerating. The car turned over fine when started again (weather was beautiful and sunny was only driven for about 10 minutes non-highway speed). Several weeks later I came to a stop at a stop light and noticed the car was fogging up (it had been raining all day and the car had been out in the rain all day at work and then a 30 minute slow drive home in rush hour traffic). I turned on the defrost on level 1 or 2 and the car sputtered and died. I was able to put it in park and start it up again. I then turned the corner and drove to another light where I had to stop and when I went to slowly accelerate and turn the corner, it died again. I also was able to put it in park again and start it. I bought the car used (it was previously a rental car and in great working condition when purchased) and I have never had problems with it until now. I did not get the 25,000 mile tune up. I change the oil every 3,000 miles. Any ideas on what could be wrong and if this will be a costly repair or not? Thanks so much for your help!
